On 22 April 2026, Meters and More held an online webinar dedicated to CIR – Charging Infrastructure Controller, with contributions from RSE, ARERA and Mac Italia.
The webinar focused on the role of CIR in supporting smart charging functionalities for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, with particular attention to the new obligations introduced in Italy for non-publicly accessible normal power recharging points and the related implications for the sector.
The session also presented the CIR architecture based on the Meters and More Chain 2 protocol, highlighting how it can support communication with smart metering systems, power management, remote operation and the aggregation of distributed EV charging resources.
