At the end of 2022, Meters and More has participated to Enlit Europe, the leading energy fair in Europe which is a key yearly appointment for organisations from the public and private sector engaged in energy transition.

The 2022 edition of Enlit Europe took place in Frankfurt, Germany, from 29 November – 1st December. The rotating event is part of the global Enlit event series; the European edition was held at the Frankfurt Messe, one of the biggest fair venues in Europe, and counted with more than 700 exhibitors and over 11.000 participants from 130 different countries.

Once more, Meters and More was present at the 3-day event as a Silver sponsor, holding a unique booth with a demonstration of its Chain 1 and Chain 2. Attendees had the chance to take a closer look at the features of the open communications protocol maintained by the association for indoor and outdoor applications, as well as to learn more about the Association’s mission.

In addition to being an exhibitor, Meters and More has had a big participation in the content part of the event: on 30 November, the association’s General Manager Carlo Maria Drago was a speaker at the Enlit Summit, in a session titled “Opportunities and challenges around data access and sharing in the energy sector”. During the panel discussion, Mr Drago has mentioned the diversity of stakeholders involved in the smart metering value chain nowadays, underlining how associations like Meters and More facilitate data exchange and interoperability on top of new upcoming standards, making the work of all actors easier.

Enlit Europe also opens its stage for “Hub” sessions, which are short presentations on different Hubs dedicated to macro-topics related to the energy transition. Meters and More member Bitron, represented by Michele Salaris, has intervened in the Digitalisation Hub, with a presentation on energy communities. Mr Salaris focused on the technical, regulatory and behavioural challenges involved in making energy communities happen, based on Bitron’s experience in Italy.”[…] We need smart meters, smart homes and smart grids but also smart regulators in order to have the proper incentives to make energy communities happen” – an interesting food for thought on the topic.

Last but not least, Meters and More Chairperson Paolo Bassani, from Gridspertise, has given an interview to Smart Energy International, presenting the association, its role in supporting the energy transition and its strategic focus for the moment.

Meters and More was glad to attend Enlit Europe 2022, which led to interesting networking opportunities and set the scene for synergies with other event participants and organisations.

See you in Paris in 2023!
